Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis Upgrades
Last checked 2026-10-01 · post-launch · Barrack / Marksman / Mage / Artillery · point costs: two sources agreeThe Upgrades screen in Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis is where you spend the upgrade points you earn in the campaign on permanent bonuses. These bonuses carry into every stage. The screen holdsfour upgrade trees side by side, one per tower type. From left to right they areBarrack, Marksman, Mage and Artillery, and each tree follows the same shape: a starting node,A/B choice rows where you pick one of two options, and one larger capstone at the bottom.
Upgrade points come from campaign progress and are tied to the furthest stage you have finished, rising from0 to 56 across the 18 campaign stages. The points are one shared pool for all four trees. For the point totals and per-node costs below, two sources agree (two community sources); an in-game clip matches the first two nodes.
Upgrade points and node costs
Points available after each furthest campaign stage completed:
| Stage | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Points | 0 | 2 | 4 | 6 | 8 | 10 | 13 | 18 | 21 |
| Stage | 10 | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 | 16 | 17 | 18 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Points | 24 | 27 | 30 | 35 | 38 | 41 | 46 | 51 | 56 |
Going down a tree, the nodes cost 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3 and 5 points. A complete run through one tree (both opening nodes, one of the branches, then the capstone) adds up to 14 points. Four trees × 14 = 56, which is exactly the total you hold after stage 18: enough for one full path in every tree.
In-game check: in XlOitxN7z9I (18:22–18:36) the points counter drops from 3 to 2 to 0 as the player buys the two opening nodes of a tree, a 1-point node followed by a 2-point node, which lines up with the costs above. The clip only covers those first two nodes, not a full path or the 56-point total.

Reading any column from top to bottom:
- Top node: the entry upgrade for that tree.
- A/B choice row: two upgrades side by side. You pick one branch.
- Second choice row: another pair, with a swap toggle that lets you switch between the two options.
- Single nodes: straight upgrades that continue the tree.
- Capstone: a larger node at the bottom of the column, the final upgrade in that tree.
Ironhide walked through this global-upgrade layout on its developer stream before launch, and a community guide's upgrade guide describes the same four-tree, pick-a-branch structure.
Barrack tree (column 1) example: Lethal Focus

rzQ-vfGUqHc at 0:30.Lethal Focus sits in the Barrack tree, the first column on the left. Its tooltip reads that your units' first attack on each enemy does double damage, which makes it a strong opener against tanky enemies that walk into your kill zone.
Mage tree (column 3)

rzQ-vfGUqHc at 1:00.The Mage tree is the third column, between Marksman and Artillery. Its Mystic Masonry node applies to mage towers, as the in-game tooltip shows. A community guide also lists a Mage tree among the four. Mage towers and their skill names are on the towers hub.
Tips
- Look at the whole column before you pick. The A/B rows lock you into one branch at a time, so plan toward the capstone you want.
- Match the tree to your towers. If your five-tower lineup leans on mages, the Mage tree pays off in every stage.
- Use the swap toggle. The second choice row has a toggle for switching between its two options, so you can change that pick to suit your lineup.
