KR6 Genesis

Kingdom Rush 6 Genesis Iron & Blitz modes

What this gets you: Use official Ironhide challenge-mode rules — Iron is 1 elite wave / 1 life; Blitz is 3 waves / 3 lives with faster spells.

Written for patch demo-2026-09 · 2026-09-15

Run order

  1. Finish a normal campaign clear of the stage first
  2. Read the mode card — wave count and life total change
  3. Equip a full 5-tower loadout for the mode’s constraint
  4. Attempt Iron only after Knights Order and a DPS line are leveled

Steam and Games Press list Iron among the demo’s modes. Ironhide’s mode roundup (Classic Mode announcement, July 2026) and the official Genesis site define the challenge rules used below. Extended demo also enables Blitz and Spell Rush on all six demo stages (Devlog #16).

Mode table (official wording)

Mode Rules (Ironhide / official site) Demo availability
Iron Challenge 1 elite wave · 1 life total. “One devastating elite wave. One chance to survive.” Tower placement, timing, and strategy under maximum pressure. In initial demo feature list (Games Press). Full-game mode set includes Iron as one of five modes.
Blitz Challenge 3 waves · faster spells · 3 life total. Faster enemies and increased gold gain; speed matters as much as placement. Added across all 6 demo stages in Devlog #16 extension.
Spell Rush No heroes · faster spells · 3 life total. Towers + spells only. Same extension as Blitz (Devlog #16).
Hero Party 4 heroes · no spells. Full-game mode; not claimed as demo-default here.
Classic Mode Anniversary mode: classic KR1 tower lineup + upgrade paths, 1 hero, Reinforcements + Rain of Fire only. Announced for Genesis; separate from Iron/Blitz challenge cards.

How to approach Iron Challenge

  1. Pre-build a full 5-tower loadout before the elite wave — you do not get a long multi-wave economy curve.
  2. Prioritize a block pad (Knights Order) on the exit choke so the single life is not lost to a leak.
  3. Place Dwarven Culverin where the elite path is short and dense; keep Royal Catapult covering longer approaches.
  4. Hold both heroes on the densest segment; with one life there is no recovery after a wipe.
  5. Save spells (Reinforcements / Rain of Fire / Royal Edict in demo) for the elite clump, not the first scout unit.

How to approach Blitz Challenge

  1. Expect three compressed waves with faster enemies and faster spell cooldowns (official Blitz card).
  2. Spend gold aggressively — Blitz grants increased gold gain; delayed upgrades waste the tempo.
  3. Keep heroes moving between forks; three lives still punish double-lane leaks.
  4. Use the accelerated spell cycle to cover temporary holes while towers finish upgrading.

Campaign vs challenge modes

Campaign Iron Blitz
Wave shape Full stage wave count 1 elite wave 3 intense waves
Lives Standard campaign pool (HUD shows hearts; starting 20 seen in early-stage footage) 1 3
Heroes 2 equipped Allowed (not stripped by Iron’s official card) Allowed
Spell tempo Normal Normal cadence; one chance Faster spells

Official site teaser copy also mentions modes that strip heroes or gut tower count — those map to Spell Rush / related challenge cards above, not to inventing extra unnamed modes.

Pair this page with three-star clears when you are still unlocking tower nodes, the heroes hub for roster cards, and dual-hero pairing when lane jobs are the bottleneck.

Still unknown

  • Numeric gold / XP multipliers for Blitz and Spell Rush
  • Per-stage unlock requirements for Iron / Blitz / Spell Rush / Hero Party after launch
  • Whether Classic Mode ships Day-0 or later
  • Exact meaning of “five total modes” vs Classic as sixth anniversary mode
